138 Parade of Homes FALL 2016 >> Waterford Green is fulfilling its promise as a complete lifestyle community. Lombard north Group has completed the design of the final phase of Waterford Green, and construction is set to begin this fall on the Village Centre. The summer of 2016 saw significant changes, starting with the addition of the Waterford Lake Parkway trails and play ar- eas. Waterford Green's developer, Terrascape, in partnership with the City of Winnipeg led the upgrading of Dr. Jose Rizal Way to a "boulevard street," complete with separate bike lanes and sidewalks connecting the community with the adjoining neighbourhoods of Meadows West and Mandalay West. Winnipeg School Division has acquired approximately nine acres within Waterford Green on the south side of Jefferson Avenue, and in June 2016 received zoning approval from the City of Winnipeg for a nursery to Grade 8 elementary school. In September, home builders will begin single-family home construction in Phase 3B, the last phase of Waterford Green north of Jefferson, and semi-attached home construction south of Jefferson Avenue in Phase 3A, fronting the western extension of Commonwealth Avenue. Phase 4A, located between Commonwealth Avenue and the Winnipeg School Division lands, represents the last phase of Water- ford Green. Services are presently being installed to ready Phase 4A for building permits in 2017, providing a selection of 27 walkout lots on the west side of Waterford Lake and a mix of 133 single-family lots. Waterford Green has successfully integrat- ed a variety of housing options in a planned setting, creating a walkable community that meets the lifestyle needs of new home- owners, growing families with children, empty-nesters and seniors. Sidewalks, trails and bike paths connect people with schools, recreation areas, parks, public transit and the Village Centre. Chief Planner David Palubeski, on behalf of Waterford Green's developer Terrascape and planning and landscape architectural consultant, Lombard north Group, ex- pressed tremendous appreciation for the efforts of everyone involved in Waterford Green earning the designation as a "healthy lifestyle neighbourhood" from Seven Oaks Wellness Institute. … P r o f i l e Waterford Green A well-rounded heAlthy lifestyle neighbourhood — For Parade of Homes Magazine >> Putting up wallpaper is a fast, relatively simple way to make a state- ment in any room, and wallpaper murals are hot these days. Big, bold graphics, nature landcapes and animal prints are all the rage in common living areas, and dynamic murals for kids' bedrooms run the gamut from Disney heroines and comic book heroes to fairytale forest scenes and giant animals. Your kids will feel like they're spending every night at the museum when you hang a Brewster national Geographic dinosaur mural, available on- line at Home Depot. Washable and strippable, it comes in four panels and covers a two-metre by one-metre space. Or go bigger and go home with a komar elephant — measuring 3.6 metres (12 feet) by 2.4 metres (8 feet). At the higher end of the scale, Anthropologie offers a collection of artists' murals, including Rebecca Rebouche's 2.7-metre-square Swan Moon, and the larger Enchanted Forest, which measures roughly 2.7 metres (9 feet) by 3.6 metres (12 feet). Budget-conscious buyers will find that Home Depot, Sears and paint- and-wallpaper stores carry a surprisingly varied collection of wall murals, many of which come with a special backing that lets you peel them off when you decide to change up your decor.
