The Winnipeg Moose are once again lending a hand to Siloam Mission and Winnipeg's homeless population through the second annual Share the Warmth winter clothing drive. The campaign, run in partnership with Red River Co- op, kicks off this Saturday — when the Moose take on the Cleveland Monsters at MTS Centre —and continues for the entire month. Fans are asked to donate coats, mitts, toques and scarves at the Nov. 5 game, or throughout November at Red River Co-op locations. Give and you shall receive an entry for a chance to win a grand prize — a team- autographed jersey and the use of a luxury suite for the Teddy Bear Toss game on Dec. 10. The Teddy Bear Toss provides toys for the Christmas Cheer Board, and there's more good will to come during the holiday season as the Moose host the Shutout Hunger game in support of Winnipeg Harvest on Dec. 30. There's a special treat in store for Star Wars fans on Dec. 3, when the Force will be with the team on Star Wars Day. Moose players will wear special limited- edition Star Wars jerseys during the pre-game skate and fans will have a chance to get their Jedi costumes out of storage. On Dec. 4, catch a full-team autograph session. Plan to be one of the first 3,000 fans to arrive and you'll get a Manitoba Moose pennant to boot. Early next year, two Moose players will be immortalized in miniature Bobbleheads, to be given to the first 3,000 fans on Jan. 1 and April 7, and the Moose will be wearing more commemorative jerseys for special occasions in 2017: On Firefighter Appreciation Jersey/Day, in support of the Manitoba Fallen Firefighter Foundation on Jan. 15; on Polar Bear Jersey Night, presented by Assiniboine Park Zoo on Feb. 3; on Retro Jersey Day, in support of Hockey Manitoba, on March 12 and finally, on Autism Awareness Night, in support of St. Amant, on March 24. ❚ Bookmark moosehockey.com to watch for full details on these upcoming Moose promotions: Above: It was raining bears at the 2010 Manitoba Moose Teddy Bear Toss.
