Along with other adjacent landowners, Qualico has put together a plan that involves sharing the costs of creating a riverbank forest. the ex isting drainage works diagonally through the land and presents the opportunity to not only enhance drainage but create wetlands as well as preserve and enhance the forest. vogan says the company is working with the rM of headlingley to put something together that would be impossible within the Perimeter highway. "in a city that grows as slowly as Winnipeg, we only get to catch every seventh wave," he says. >> The RM of Headingley is going to need a bigger piggy bank. taylor farm, a massive $350million development, has started rising out of the ground to the west of Winni peg, and when it's completed over the next 12 to 20 years, as many as 700 taxpaying families could be calling the new neighbourhood home. the project, which was given the green light last June, is be ing spearheaded by Qualico, the Winnipegbased de veloper that previously launched projects in river Park south, sage creek, nearby oak Bluff West and many other neighbourhoods. set along the banks of the Assiniboine river and sur rounded by rolling terrain, a basswood forest, winding trails and wetlands, residents could be excused if they forgot for a moment that they lived in an urban setting. (if you need a local landmark, iconic eatery nick's inn is literally right around the corner.) The project, which was given the green light last June, is being spearheaded by Qualico.
