>> Roughly 10 years ago, the brain trust at Ventura
Land Development Company Inc. was looking for a so-
lution to a dilemma.
"We recognized that the city was expanding," recalls
Ventura's vice-president of land development, Tim
Comack. "But we didn't want to build homes off busy
routes like the Perimeter Highway and Lagimodiere
Boulevard to accommodate that growth. Areas along
those routes just didn't have an atmosphere that was
conducive to building a community. They were just too
busy for our liking."
Turned out, the answer to the dilemma
of where to build new cmunities
was located just outside city limits.
