TRIP THE LIGHT(S) FANTASTIC:
There's nothing quite as awe-inspiring as an unfettered view of the Aurora Borealis — truly one of the most dazzling displays the Canadian wilderness has to offer. For centuries, these otherworldly phenomena have served as proof of Mother Nature's artistry, eliciting wonder and amazement as dancing curtains of coloured light illuminate the night skies.
Not surprisingly, the province's upper regions afford the best vantage points for viewing — they are called the Northern Lights, after all. Churchill, in particular, is renowned as one of the top spots on the planet for solar sightseeing. Though visible year-round, the lights are most resplendent from January to March, when hordes of nature-lovers flock northwards for a front row seat beneath the shimmering canopies.
