Building For Our Children Building For Eternity L ooking to connect your family and build community? Come to Camp Wasaga. "Camp Wasaga returns to core values — family, togetherness, community, nature, and a responsibility to take care of each other and the world around us," says camper Jean Dalman. Jean has been bringing her four-year-old daughter Juliette to camp since Juliette was just seven months old. "As a single parent, Camp Wasaga lets me do things I might not do otherwise as a family," Jean says. "I wouldn't be comfortable hiking alone with my daughter or taking her on a canoe ride by myself. But at camp, we're one big community. Everyone pitches in to make sure everyone has what they need to be outdoors, active, and to experience the beauty of Riding Mountain (National Park). It's so much fun." Located on the shores of beautiful Clear Lake, Camp Wasaga is a family camp that lets families spend time together, without the stress. There are three delicious meals, plus snacks, provided daily. Each morning, kids head off to program where they learn about nature, play games and make friends. Parents choose to participate in adult program — usually a hike with Camp Wasaga's resident naturalist or a canoe ride on Clear Lake — or do their own thing, like relaxing with a good book or grabbing a coffee and exploring nearby towns. The rest of the day, it's family time! Families can participate in games and activities, go for a supervised swim, explore the park or just relax. "When you consider that accommodations and meals are included in camp costs, it's an amazing price," Jean says. "But there really isn't a price I could put on our time at Wasaga. It's so special for my daughter and I — making lifelong memories with other Wasaga campers and loving every minute of it!" ❚ Connect your family at Camp Wasaga
