Bricklaying the entranceway was expected to take four hours, but three men completed the job in three hours. It took only 50 minutes to anchor walls and 36 minutes to fit windows. The only aspect of the build that fell behind schedule was the drying-out of the joint fillers in the drywall construction, a process that took nearly twice the time allotted due to some unforeseen rainfall. In the end, the Winnipeg workers still beat the Toronto record handily, even managing to furnish their house a mere 20 minutes after construction was complete. The original owners of the home — who were on hand to survey the work during the marathon construction session in 1957 — moved in shortly after that year's Parade of Homes display was over.
