Peri Maric says some homeowners want to shoehorn
as much technology as possible into their homes, while
others want their homes to be retreats where they can
be unplugged.
"It's either ending up being a very simple house
or having a robot. There's less of a middle ground
nowadays."
Thanks to the internet, consumers are better informed
about the new materials and products that are available.
But Tanya Maric notes there's also a trend toward
improving older materials that had fallen out of favour,
such as laminate flooring and arborite countertops.
"There are some really green products that are coming
out — the colour palettes are amazing," she says.
