The three-day event is set for Jan. 12-14 at the RBC Convention Centre Winnipeg with more than 200 home- improvement companies converging under one roof. This year, several new highlights will be sure to draw crowds, including the new M(ART)ket feature to help homeowners add some artistic interest to their walls. "We have eight featured local vendors that are showcasing a collection of canvases, prints and photographs," says show manager Jenn Tait. "When you enter, they'll be straight down the centre aisle. It's something that people can look forward to. For anyone looking to renovate, art is a great way to add some design and style to your home." Also new to this year's show is Double Take designed by Dollhouse Design. "This feature is great for people who aren't really sure when to splurge and when to pinch your pennies when it comes to your home design and décor," Tait says. "Dollhouse Design will help you discover how to recreate high-end looks without breaking the bank. People will walk through this feature for a lesson in economics and explore different spaces that are brought to life with two different budgets." The Great Crate Challenge will be another crowd-pleaser, featuring products provided by Rust-oleum. "We've reached out to five of Winnipeg's most stylish bloggers and they'll get creative by reimagining the humble wooden crate into an incredibly versatile piece of storage or home décor," Tait says. "It could be anything from shelving for books to a rustic spot for comfy blankets or a quaint little perch you could sit on. The possibilities are endless. Attendees can check out all the different crates, and then each crate creator will be giving their piece away over social media." The Winnipeg Renovation Show has everything you need to make your home goals happen, with experts on hand at Ask a Renovator and the Design Studio areas. "We encourage people to bring their demo plans, blueprints and colour swatches for free 15-minute consultations," Tait says. "It's all focused on getting your home up to speed and giving you the best tips and advice." Stylish tips & handy hints By Jennifer McFee Of course, you won't want to miss HGTV Canada's Brian Baeumler, who will be appearing on the Lifestyle Stage on Friday, Jan. 12 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 13 at 1:30 p.m. A full listing of the Lifestyle Stage lineup is posted on the Winnipeg Renovation Show website. "We want people to plan their day around catching some of the appearances that we have from local pros. Some of Winnipeg's top chefs will also be on the stage," Tait says. "As well, our show actually expanded this year since we keep getting more and more exhibitors. Our exhibitor list is online, so you can check out who's going to be in the show." As an added incentive, tickets purchased on the Winnipeg Renovation Show website qualify for a $3 discount courtesy of All Canadian Renovations. "We also have a satisfaction guarantee or the price of admission is on us," Tait adds. The Winnipeg Renovation Show runs Friday, Jan. 12 from noon to 9 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 13 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday, Jan. 14 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The regular price of admission is $12 for adults, $9 for seniors and free for children 12 and under. ❙ For more information, visit winnipegrenovationshow.com.
