"We have a lot of customers who want to achieve
an industrial theme and enhance that with vintage
Edison-style bulbs — a very sought-after style —
which have become readily available in LED form."
That's a plus now that more energy-efficient lighting
is replacing the old incandescent light bulb.
"We still have people who visit our showroom who
are not quite sold on LED," says Robinson. "But
once they learn that they come in all sorts of shapes,
colours and brightness, and realize the cost is not as
prohibitive as it once was and is actually going down in
price, choosing LED becomes more palatable."
Then there is the wave of advances in home automation
that lets you turn lights on or set a mood using your
smartphone or a voice-activation device.
"The possibilities really are endless," Robinson says.
"You don't even have to leave your chair to dim
your lights."
