far greater durability and more
design options than pressure-
treated wood, it doesn't come
cheap. In fact, a composite deck
surface can cost as much as three
times more than pressure-treated
lumber, which remains a popular
choice for many cost-conscious
homeowners.
So, how do you know which
material is right for you?
Brandon Dueck, co-owner of
Windeck Ltd., says there are
two key factors to consider with
composite decking. One is that it
requires far less maintenance than
lumber. The other is that unlike a
wood deck, a composite deck is
considered a value-added feature
and can increase the resale value
of your home.
