NATURAL BEAUTY AND MODERN LIVING IN Prairie Pointe Excitement is growing in Prairie Pointe, where everything from multiple-family housing to luxe lakefront lots will be cropping up in 2018. This master-planned Ladco commu- nity, nestled next to South Pointe west of Kenaston Boulevard, is only in its early years, but already has 200 single- family and duplex lots near completion in Stage 1. Another 235 lots in Stage 2 are selling quickly and plans are under - way to service approximately 90 more in Stage 3 — including many amenity lots that back right onto a park or lake. "These lots will be sought after by anyone looking for a beautiful yet affordable amenity lot," says Lad- co Vice-President of Development David Borger. Building on the diverse housing mix, rental townhomes are currently under construction at Brio Brownstones, and Ladco will add more duplex lots and townhome condominiums in 2018. "We're trying to target multiple markets," says Manager of Land Devel- opment Michael Carruthers. "It will be- come a mature community and it's go- ing much better than we anticipated." Prairie Pointe showcases the handi- work of six builders: A&S Homes, Ven- tura Custom Homes, Hilton Homes, Qualico, Randall Homes and Signature Homes. Four more builders will be joining Prairie Pointe in 2018, includ- ing Gino's Homes, Artista Homes, KDR Homes and Hillside Construction. Spencer Curtis, of Hilton Homes, de- scribes Prairie Pointe as a well-planned community with a wealth of attractions for home buyers. "It continues to be a place that we're always excited about because of the significant amenities the area has to of- fer, including its proximity to shopping, schools and the university," Curtis says. "It's a vibrant community with good transportation links and lots of things to do. The walking trails and the parks throughout Prairie Pointe will be fantastic for families to enjoy when constructed." Matthew Yan, sales manager for A&S Homes, says it's a neighbourhood where modern living meets natural allure. "Prairie Pointe is easily among one of the most desirable emerging neigh- bourhoods in Winnipeg, featuring more than 600 acres, including nearly 90 acres of greenspace and wetlands when complete," he says. For Arin Comack, assistant general manager of Ventura Custom Homes, the appeal of Prairie Pointe extends beyond its prime location. "The community doesn't have rigid architectural guidelines, so there's a lot more diversity in the style of homes in Prairie Pointe than you might see in neighbour- ing communities where the archi- tectural controls are very rigid and very expensive," Comack says. "For Ventura Custom Homes, it was our top area last year and the year be- fore. We tend to sell more homes in this area because people have so much flexibility. A custom builder like us can design custom houses that suit the unique needs of a variety of customers from different backgrounds — and it's more affordable too."
