PARADE of HOMES Spring Showcase One-stop Digital Shop Looking for information on home builders, renovators or suppliers? The Manitoba Home Builders' Association (MHBA) has revamped its website to create a more user-friendly resource for its members and for the general public. "What we're hoping our new website can be is really a starting point for people who are looking either at doing a renovation or looking at building a new home and wondering, 'Where do I start?' " says MHBA president and CEO Lanny McInnes. One welcome feature is the searchable list of members — builders, developers, renovators and associate members, including suppliers for kitchen, bath, glass and lighting products, landscaping, interior design and more. "When you see that a company is an MHBA member you know that you're getting the best of the residential construction industry," McInnes says. "There is criteria that all of our members have to meet and that includes all of our associate members, as well. They are approved by the organization and by our membership so it's not a simple matter of filling out an application and paying a membership fee." Along with providing industry news and tips for finding the right builder or contractor, the site is a digital hub for the Parade of Homes. "You'll be able to see where all the Parade of Homes show homes are, you'll be able to see the listings for each entry and a digital copy of the Parade of Homes magazine." After the Parade, check back to see show homes that are open year-round, access direct links to builders and even arrange private viewings.
