Booth 607 University CANADIAN MENNONITE UNIVERSITY HOW TO APPLY: RCMP: Before applying, candidates need to meet the following requirements: • Canadian citizen or a permanent resident who has lived in Canada for 10 consecutive years; • Can be 18 to apply, but must be 19 to become a police officer; • Must be fluent in English and/or French. Bilingualism is not mandatory; • Unrestricted driver's licence • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; • Prepared to carry a firearm and use it, or any other necessary force; • Willing to relocate: applicants from Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia may request a first posting in their home province; • Completed vision and hearing testing before applying • For more information on how to apply to become a police officer for the RCMP, visit rcmpcareers.ca Correctional Services: • For more information about the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services, visit ontario.ca/corrections • All positions are posted on the Government of Ontario Careers website, atontario.ca/careers. Canadian Armed Forces: • For more information about full-time and part-time employment with the CAF, visit the CAF recruiting centre at 391 York Ave. or go to forces.ca • When you enrol in the Regular Force, terms of service start at three years but can be longer depending on the type and amount of training required. • If you join through a Paid Education program, you will be required to serve two months for every month of paid education. • For Canadians who would like to join the military but do not want to move or deploy, they can consider part-time employment with a local Primary Reserve unit. That way, they can still support their community and country in uniform without being uprooted. • Currently, there is a high demand for Canadians interested in navy occupations (such as SONAR operator or naval communicator), medical occupations (such as doctor or medical technician) and other priority occupations (such as avionics systems technician, truck driver and financial clerk).
