PROGRAM AIMS TO ENCOURAGE NEWCOMERS A WELL-KNOWN MANITOBA COURSE RECENTLY LAUNCHED A NEW INITIATIVE IT HOPES WILL ENCOURAGE PEOPLE UNFAMILIAR WITH GOLF TO TAKE UP THE GAME. Netley Creek Golf Club is offering the Start New Golf Intro Deal at the beginning and end of each month. As part of the promotion, groups of eight to 10 golfers will take part in one-hour lessons each day for three days. The cost of the lessons starts at $60 and includes free club rentals so newcomers can test out equipment before purchasing it. As an extra incentive, each new golfer who participates in the program will receive five free golf games at Netley Creek so they can practice the skills they just learned at no added cost. Club officials hope the initiative will help grow the game and promote the fact it is a sport for life.
