COOKING WITH PROPANE LaSalle company is tops in the tank business
B arbecue season is upon us and if you’re cooking with propane, there’s a good chance you’re using a Tank Traders product. Tank Traders provides filled propane tanks for exchange at more than 4,000 retail locations. It was recently awarded approximately 600 Loblaws outlets across Canada and 140 Save-On-Foods stores in Western Canada, and is in the process of BY ANDREA GEARY
setting up these new locations, as well as others at about 300 Esso and Petro- Canada stations nation-wide. Tank Traders, part of Vomar Industries headquartered in La Salle, owns seven distribution and two refurbishment centres across Canada, and recently entered the U.S. market. Last fall, the company completed the purchase of Country Pride Exchange, a tank exchange
company in Missouri. Since that time, Vomar president Marcel Vouriot says the business has grown by 60 per cent. Tank Traders is now talking with three other small tank exchange companies in Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma. Vouriot was honoured when his company was a finalist for a Manitoba Chambers of Commerce award in the medium-sized business category in 2018.
