IRONMEN INDUSTRIES

THE INVINCIBLE IRONMEN Family-owned, Winkler-based business growing by leaps and bounds BY WENDY KING

W hen the Krahn family, John and his two sons David and Johnny, decided they wanted to work together, they chose a careful, faith-informed path to build a business in their community. They knew that they wanted to do something that made the best use of their collective talents. The result of that care and their collective resumes helped them found Ironmen Industries (ironmenindustries.com) in their hometown of Winkler. Ironmen Industries sums up its business offering as “the precise fabrication of steel into everyday products.” They manufacture raw material and provide sales and repairs (including Canadian Welding Bureau-certified welding). They provide quality steel and custom metal fabrication across incredibly broad applications for

industrial and commercial use, agricultural, and residential. They do constructed steel: stairs, railings and joists, for example. They custom-build oversized trailers, metal components for construction, and control cabs. They’ve even built Tundra buggies for polar bear- watching and taken on smaller jobs such as repair welds on chairs for one local customer. “We stay in Winkler because we have family here and because it is an industry hub that still has a small town feel,” David Krahn says. The Krahns are a triple threat: John with extensive experience in the potato industry as a field foreman including repairing and fabricating equipment; David with experience as a production manager; and Johnny in steel fabrication.
