Smile, you’re on Live-virtual hybids are the meetings of the future By Geoff Kirbyson ZOOM I f there’s one thing that many businesspeople are missing as we enter the second season of COVID-19 annual general meetings, it’s the food and drink and networking. There’s a certain segment of participants who, while they sit in on the formal part of a meeting, can’t wait for all of the numbers and nominating directors and housekeeping rigamarole to be over with so they can break bread and socialize with their peers. There is a solution, of sorts, as businesses adapt to the global pandemic and take their AGMs — and many other events for that matter — virtual.
