Have you heard of any cool seasonal beers being brewed for the holiday season? I hear Barn Hammer is doing some variations on their famous Grandpa’s Sweater oatmeal stout closer to December, which is exciting because that’s a classic Winnipeg beer. I’m hop- ing for a winter warmer type variation. I love beers with cinnamon/ginger/ Christmas baking spices. What’s your go-to beer for a cozy winter night? Guinness. I have so much respect for everything about their commitment to protecting their brand’s quality. Of all the heritage beer brands, Guinness is and always will be the beer you think of
when you see a nitro tap or a dark beer. That’s powerful branding and legacy. Anything else you think people should know about the beer industry in Winnipeg? My bartender colleagues at The Common are passionate about serving great beer and making excellent food pairings with our beer and wine lists as well. You don’t have to be a tourist to enjoy The Forks. Come and let us put together a totally new food and drink experience for you. We have a beer list unlike any other beer bar in Canada — everything from lagers to lambics.
