CHAMBERS PLAN EMPLOYEE BENEFITS
OUR STORY DIDN’T START WITH A LOT OF FANFARE. IT STARTED WITH A QUESTION: “HOW DO PEOPLE WANT TO BE TAKEN CARE OF AT WORK?” T his may seem like an obvious question for a benefits provider to ask, but it wasn’t always the case. It wasn’t until the 80s that some industries started building their business around what was best for their customers. It
Chambers Plan, which is administered by Johnston Group, includes Business Assistance Service (BAS) for every group. It provides a small business with access to professional accounting, legal, and human resources consultants to help deal with any challenges so they can get back to focusing on their work. The pandemic has changed our world, and these supports will be invaluable to business owners dealing with the logistic, employment and ethical challenges they will face. And while employee benefits are, of course, designed to help employees cover the costs of medical and dental care, we know their mental health is just as important. That’s why we include Hugr in every Chambers Plan. Hugr is an app that facilitates connections to support our emotional well-being. It’s an innovation in building personal resilience. These are just a couple of ways Johnston Group is different. We’re more than algorithms and transaction processing. We make benefits plans that are simple to use and administer, and we provide stable, dependable pricing. Most importantly, we’re real people focused on helping individuals, businesses, and communities thrive. ■
was a simple philosophy, yet it didn’t take hold in employee benefits. For something as personal as benefits, the industry remained awfully impersonal. We decided to change that. Insurance is a community at its core: a group comes together to pool resources, so if any one member needs help, the group’s resources are available to them. We are a philanthropic organization, and, for obvious reasons, the needs are greater now than ever. While we try to give generously to people and organizations, that simply isn’t enough. So, we also work with our business and community partners to help rebuild the community that we love. Small businesses were devastated in the pandemic. And as they start to recover, renew or reinvent, they need to attract new employees, and retain the ones they still have. A strong benefits plan can help a small business compete for talent. They need to regain their stability to create dependable cash flow. Our goal has always been to provide predictability and value. In addition, we believe, for us to be able to offer sustainable benefits plans for companies as small as a single entrepreneur to a company with thousands of employees, we need to help both the businesses and the employee.
