Here’s what participating SME’s have to say about FPDI's Apprenticeship Support Project: IT PAYS TO PARTNER
EWF Electrical Owner Edward Forbister said “Generally, when an apprentice first starts, it takes a lot of time and money to teach them the trade and how to work on a job site. It’s difficult to hire someone that has limited knowledge of the trade. The FPDI program allowed me to give an apprentice a chance to have their start in the electrical industry,” Southside Electric Ltd. Co-owner Tanis Geddes said "My experience with ASP was very good. Everything was explained and made simple to understand. The support makes the entry level apprentices more appealing to recruit. It also helps to offset the cost of the learning curve and integration that comes with hiring first-year apprentices." Parkwest Projects Ltd Teri Urban, the H&S Manager. When asked about FPDI's Apprenticeship Support Project she said "The grant funds are enabling us to focus on supports to enhance the Apprentice's training and education.'' and that ASP is "an excellent ongoing resource to support a company of our size".
