wood siding and panels on the front and stone — a very clean- looking front on a house that is going towards the trends that are happening right now in the market.” The corner lot also offers its own benefits to the homebuyer. “We want to take advantage of the view that we have over- looking the great space on the lake, so we designed everything with that in mind,” he says. “It’s also a very functional home.” The open-concept design on the main floor includes a kitchen, eating area and great room where people either entertain or spend time on daily life activities. In addition, it includes a lifestyles room that can be used for a
home office. “After the pandemic, we learned that people spend a lot more time in their homes,” Jaquet says. “So Avanti looked at that and we decided that we needed a main-floor office in the homes that we’re designing because it’s very functional for our families. A lot of people will work from home or use it as a study area. It’s a lifestyle room.” The second storey will feature three bedrooms with a loft, a bathroom and upstairs laundry. “The rooms are all a good size,” Jaquet says. “It’s got a lot of functionality and space.” The future lower level includes a rec room, two more bedrooms and a bathroom.
West will be a prime example. “When you’re driving up to it, you’re the king of the castle,” says Jason Jaquet, vice-presi- dent of Avanti Custom Homes. “When people have their homes, it bears a statement, so this home will do that for them.” The 2,463-square-foot custom two-storey is the first of its kind. “We came up with a brand new custom design again for Avanti. We looked at the lot and the sight-lines that we had and we designed a house to fit on the lot because that’s what a custom builder does,” Jaquet says. “We’re building a very modern- looking front with modern
