The surveillance becomes an active deterrent,” he says. “You can set the camera to show if a human were to cross into your yard, sirens and strobes would activate during specific times of the day, which would discourage break-ins.” Banks says AI is definitely going to get bigger and into more app-based devices. “AI in home automation is an experi- ence that clients get adapted to. They get used to it. It’s the convenience
of everything. Your house wakes up with you, the shades open, the radio turns on. It’s pretty cool to have this type of technology,” he says, noting that many busy families appreciate the convenience. “I have it in the house and cottage. It adjusts temperature, arms my system, shuts my TV, lights, and the shades will lower or open. It’s just so convenient.” For some, navigating the new tech- nology can be intimidating, but Banks says support is available. “The 24/7 support services are crucial,” he says. “Having us on your side is going to make a difference. Our clients are really enjoying it.”
