INTELLIGENT DESIGN — Cont’d from page 53
A three-car garage is pretty much standard in Taylor Farm, and at 2,464 square feet, there’s also plenty of interior elbow room throughout this three-bedroom model, along with a walkout basement waiting to be transformed into a home theatre, gym or games room. A charming mudroom off the garage entry has a built-in bench and coat hooks, with a powder room right next door. And on the opposite side of the garage, the dropped foyer has a double closet to the left, and a study to the right, ideal for a bright home office. With two steps leading up to the great room, there are good sight lines into the open main floor, but the study area is subtly secluded, tucked in behind the fireplace.
ON THE GREAT-ROOM SIDE, THE KITCHEN OPENS ON TO A REAR DECK FOR AN EVEN BETTER VIEW.
There’s nice separation on the main level too. The kitchen anchors the space, with a massive multi-tiered island under a substantial dropped ceiling feature. Black appliances, flat-front black MDF and wood-grain cabinetry and wide black window frames are offset by white and grey Caesarstone countertops and sleek pendant lighting. Along with generous seating space at the island, there’s a dining area on the mudroom side of the kitchen, with large windows overlooking the back yard and the naturalized waterway that runs along the rear of the property. On the great-room side, the kitchen opens on to a rear deck for an even better view. Sales agent Mark Kogan says everyone who visits the show home is impressed by the kitchen, and they like the flow between the cooking area and the great room. Cont’d on page 56
