“People want to have the ability to live, work and play within very close proximity to all those things and I think that’s one thing this neighbour- hood offers as an attraction, to be very close to CentrePort,” Glavin says. There are 247 lots in Phase I of the development, with seven builders. Sante Fe Developments is offering two duplex models with attached garages and private yards, and during the Fall Parade of Homes, Ter- racon is putting up a temporary parking lot to accommodate visitors to five show homes — from Trikor Builders, Broadview, Kensington, Odessy and Randall Homes — on Castlebury Meadows Drive. Dale Penner, Qualico sales manager for single family homes, says the ability to choose a lake lot, standard lot or side-by-side lot offers buyers a variety of choices in the northwest Winnipeg neighbourhoods. “What we’ve seen from these developers is a diversity of lot sizes to suit the changing market. And by that I mean affordability is at the front for a lot of our home buyers, especially first-time buyers,” Penner says. “That has allowed us over the last few years to adapt our plans to those sizes. We offer a wide variety of different styles of homes to meet the needs of all types of consumers — from first-time buyers to those who want a larger home for their growing family. We can offer duplexes, back-lane and front-drive product with various lot sizes to accommo- date those that are budget conscious by offering the smaller footprint (for their home).”
