FAMILY MATTERS — Cont’d from page 101
Tucked behind a door off the kitchen, the mudroom and main-floor laundry area with utility sink are located in a wide hallway, with the garage entry door next to a double closet at the front end and a small powder room at the rear. There’s another double closet near the front door, which opens on to a small den overlooking the street. Down the hall, the great room and kitchen overlook a boomerang- shaped man-made pond that runs through the
development. Flooded with natural light, the kitchen has plenty of storage, including a tall pantry cupboard with pullout shelves and a built-in cabinet in the island that keeps garbage and recycling bins out of sight, but close at hand. There’s an eating lip on the island, but the full-size dining area is just as inviting. Extending into a large alcove, it has windows on three sides — if you include the French door leading out to the roomy deck.
