HOT IN THE KITCHEN — Cont’d from page 109
Welcome Home
“The feeling I was trying to get for this kitchen was a sense of an old loft, like a hybrid of industrial chic and urban farmhouse,” says Jakab.
YOU’VE GOT ALL NATURAL FEATURES WITH THE WOOD, THE BRICK AND THE WROUGHT IRON. IT’S EARTHY AND ELEGANT AND GROUNDED AND VERY MUCH ON TREND. The Sterling kitchen features Hebron brick (real brick, in thin-cut format) in warm shades of brown and grey. It makes a dramatic backdrop for the Newhaven Tuscan maple shaker-style cabinets, black appliances and the coffee station with its black open shelving. The hardware has a vintage look, with industrial-style supports for the shelving, wrought-iron cup pulls on drawers and simple round knobs on cabinets. “You’ve got all natural features with the wood, the brick and the wrought iron,” she adds. “It’s earthy and elegant and grounded and very much on trend.”
