SUGAR & SPICE — Cont’d from page 118

“The kitchen is obviously a huge huge hit.”

Right next to the kitchen, there’s extra counter space that can serve as a prep area, homework desk or drop zone between the pantry and garage entry. Chaput credits Two30Nine By Decor for designing the kitchens in all three of Foxridge’s Spring Parade entries. “They were instrumental in the whole vision for those spaces, as well as all the cabinetry in the home, including the bathrooms and laundry room.” Peri Maric, vice-president of architectural design at Maric Homes, says the company worked with Harms’ Kitchen Design on the European-style kitchen in the Maric show home on Willow Creek Road in Bridgwater Trails. The island is supported by slim, U-shaped legs, creating an open, airy look that doesn’t interrupt the view of rich hardwood flooring. The floor show is similarly unobstructed in the company’s show home on East Plains Drive in Sage Creek, where an extra-thick waterfall countertop adorns a bar-height peninsula.

Open on the underside, it’s a substantial grounding element that mirrors open wall shelves near the cooktop. Maric’s laned home on Vireo Lane in Sage Creek is study in classic contrasts, with a black island base, cabinetry and open shelves set against a white subway-tile backdrop with white countertops.
