Nice and Easy Does It Creative concept cuts down on yard care

>> Lots of people talk about thinking outside the box. Leslie and Peter Savinkoff actually did it when they bought a courtyard home in 2013.
Designed and landscaped to mini- mize yard work, the Upton model from Broadview Homes, a Qualico company, gave the couple all the space they need indoors and out, but it let them downsize the time they spend on upkeep. With a short, 16-foot driveway to the back lane, snow clearing is a breeze, and the two-storey house has a unique built-in niche on one side for a large, secluded wood deck and small lawn, so it only takes about 15 minutes to cut all the grass.

Because the courtyard concept ap- plies to every home on the block, windows that overlook neighbouring side yards are frosted, allowing for maximum privacy.
