With one press of a button, you can turn most (if not all) of your home’s key systems on, including lights and your entertainment system
>> Back in the ’60s, TV cartoon The Jetsons displayed a tantalizing vision of the home of the future. At the outset of each episode, family patriarch George would enter a house that was fully automated — designed to meet his every need with the press of a button. Fifty years ago, that vision was a romantic dream. Today, it’s a reality. With one press of a button, you can turn most (if not all) of your home’s key sys-
tems on, including lights and your entertainment system. Best of all, automation systems are now very affordable.
“Automation used to be quite costly. Nowadays, it’s more affordable and easier to do. A basic system – they start at around $1,000 – can make life that much easier; a more elaborate system can make your house into a home where you can relax and rejuvenate in convenient style,” says Accu- rate Technology Group’s Laurence Rosenberg.
