He notes that other family-friendly amenities in his ward include a day care for 113 children and the dual-track Kindergarten-Grade 8 École St. Adolphe School. There’s also a curling club, and in pre-pandemic years, folks only had to travel as far as the St. Adolphe Parish on Main Street to attend an old-fashioned fall supper. In warm months, the St. Adolphe Drive-in serves pizza, poutine and burgers, and at the St. Adolphe Motor Inn, Monday is officially wing night. Unofficially, every night is wing night, since the restaurant advertises 66 flavours, from classic buffalo to peanut butter and jelly. Parks, playgrounds, a baseball park, ecological reserve and a scenic leg of the Trans Canada Trail are among the RM’s many outdoor attractions. Faucher says another advantage of the small-town lifestyle is that it’s easy to get to know your neighbours, and to get involved in the community. He notes that construction on the new Grande Pointe Clubhouse was entirely community- driven, thanks to the Grande Pointe Homeowners Association. Single-family homes with three-car garages are common, but the RM offers a variety of housing options. Construction is expected to start this year on an age-friendly bare-land condominium development, The Villas at Grande Pointe Meadows, complete with bocce and pickleball courts.
