THE YEAR’S FIRST PARADE OF HOMES IS A HAPPY REMINDER THAT SPRING HAS ALL BUT SPRUNG. IT’S SAFE TO SAY WE HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE READY FOR A FRESH START, OR MORE EAGER TO WELCOME THE SEASON OF RENEWAL. OUTDOORS, OUR GARDENS ARE STILL IN DORMANT MODE, BUT INSIDE, WE’RE SEEING GREEN IN ALL ITS GLORY — ALONG WITH SOME KITSCHY- COOL ACCESSORIES.

1. It’s a jungle out there, but this cozy little conservatory area is a haven from the outside world. Multiple shelves like these industrial wire-and- wood wall units ($49) and the three-tiered gold number next to the window ($59) hold collectibles and plants. A faux Sherpa chair ($299) is built for comfort and a rattan plant stand ($59) doubles as a book basket, all from HomeSense ( homesense.ca ).

2. They’re slightly less fun than a barrel-full, but these white ceramic monkeys ($25) still bring some playful attitude. Paired with faux potted plants (starting at $17), they’re displayed hanging around on shelves and windowsills in a variety of cheeky poses, at HomeSense ( homesense.ca ).

3. If you’ve never had a Chia Pet, you don’t know what you’re missing. Easy to sow and easy to grow, chia seeds deliver near-instant gratification, reaching full size in a week or two. Star Wars: The Mandalorian -themed The Child (Baby Yoda) planter is one of the newest pets in the Chia universe. Buy it you can at Canadian Tire ( canadiantire.ca ) and other fine stores for about $20.
