ith many different styles now on the market — apart- ment-style, townhomes and
bungalows — buyers now have a greater cross-section to choose from and homebuyers are now looking at them in a new light. And with condo developments popping up in all areas of the city, not to mention outside the city, people can now find a condo in the area where they want to live. David Powell of the Powell Group, lead sales representative for Irwin Homes, says that condo living has many merits. “I think, first and foremost, it’s all about convenience,” he says. “You’re not dealing with snow shovelling, cutting grass or home maintenance. Everything is done for you, so it’s a largely stress-free lifestyle.” Margaux Braund, marketing manager for StreetSide Developments, concurs. “For our townhome condos, you get the same feel as a single-family home; there’s just no maintenance associated with living in a condo,” she says. “It’s a great way to live.” Powell adds that anyone searching for a new home can benefit from the buying experience associated with purchasing a new condo. “There’s not as much competition for condos, especially compared to single-family homes in the $250,000 to $350,000 price range,” he says. “In that sense, a condo is a great entry- level option for first-time homebuyers as they don’t have to deal with bidding wars and the disappointment that often comes with them.”
Phase 3 of Irwin Homes’ fabulous Bloom & Timber Condominiums is in the construction stage and should be ready
