Boisselle sells a $30 utensil organizer that ad- justs to fit different drawer sizes. But first you have to empty the drawer. “When you can’t see what you’ve got, you’ve probably got four po- tato peelers and three corkscrews, but you don’t need all that,” she says. “What I suggest to people is that they take everything out and put it all in a box, and then put one of each back into the drawer. If you’re having a big party where people are going to help you cook and serve, then what you can do is bring out your box. But on a day-to- day basis, you don’t need that.” Elsewhere in the kitchen, Boisselle likes to integrate pullout garbage and recycling bins and a pullout for cleaning supplies under the sink. “Everything should function for your day-to-day life,” she says.
