Parade of Homes | Fall 2013

Like Father, Like Daughter Cont’d from page 37

“Being in a family business is really great. There’s lots of challenges with that, but the great part is that I have a lot of resources in the people around me that I know and I trust,” she says. “We know each other and we know our strengths and our weaknesses, so one is able to help the other out and that works out really well.” Snow meets with customers to help them design their home and choose features that are important to them. She says that one-on-one collaboration with clients is an area where women are especially strong because they come at it from a more personal angle. “When I’m with customers in a meeting, it’s just a little bit more of a conversation. The walls can be broken down a bit,” she says.

“It’s just more of a welcoming experience.” An ability to relate to customers helps them relax and open up. It’s important that they feel they can talk freely, since they’ll be working with the builder for many months on their new custom home, which is a huge milestone in their lives. “The thing that I really like the best is when we hand over the keys on possession day and the customer is happy,” Snow says. “I feel really grate- ful that someone would trust us with that and that we would be able to accomplish their dream for them.” Warkentin Homes has two show homes turned out for the Fall Parade of Homes, both located on beautiful properties.
