Southern Comfort Diverse blend of options in southeast a perfect fit for many lifestyles

There’s never been a better time to set down roots in southeast Winnipeg. Along with stunning housing and condo de- velopments, gorgeous green space and quick access to St. Vital Centre and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ new Investors Group Field, the area affords easy access to major highways for com- muters. It’s no wonder 25 to 30 per cent of the city’s building permits are going to the area east of the Red River and south of Dugald Road. “Slightly over a quarter of Winnipeggers prefer to live in that corner of town,” says Eric Vogan, Vice-President of Qualico Communities.

“The southwest has always been the most pre- ferred area of the city in terms of where people buy new homes, but the southeast has always had a big presence with River Park South and St. Vital.” More recent developments include the pe- destrian-friendly Sage Creek, the quaint but stylish Waterside Estates and numerous condo complexes such as The Legend at Creek Bend, Oxbow on the Seine, Royalwood Estates town- homes and The Oaks Condominiums, just down Highway 59 in Ile des Chenes.
