Wraps are another increasingly popular choice for adding a splash of colour. Applied to PVC frames at the manufacturing stage, wraps are molecularly bonded to the frame. Exterior metal wraps come in a growing number of colours while interior acrylic wraps offer a range of colours and even some wood grains. Gostick says they are durable under most normal weather conditions and offer protection against fading and discolouration. Years ago, choosing a front door for a home was almost an afterthought for most people. That’s no longer the case, says Gostick. “Now, it’s often the first thing people talk about when they are planning any exterior work,” he says. Although steel doors remain popular, fiberglass has become the material of choice for a growing number of homeowners and builders.
