“We are a smaller community but we do attract a lot of high-profile events, so we’re pretty proud of that,” she says. “We have a good group of volunteers. We’re very fortunate that the people that live in Stonewall are very community- oriented. They certainly pitch in to help with all sorts of different events that we can attract.” Named after the town’s founder, Samuel (Stonewall) Jackson, the community also boasts the unique 80-acre Quarry Park, with its man-made Kinsmen Lake, an arts centre and paths for walking and biking.
