or the longest time, Archangel Fireworks specialized in putting on fireworks shows that wowed audiences with their spectacular displays and percussive impact. That changed about five years ago when steady advances in drone technology made it possible to put on elaborately choreographed shows that added another dimension — and a rather cool one at that — to Archangel’s aerial repertoire. Canada and North America. “Although we put on lots of drone shows, it’s still a new technology for being used in this manner,” says Jason Robillard, Archangel’s sales manager. “We’re still learning, but they now have a place in what we do. They are complementary to fireworks. They’re another medium of putting a story up in the sky.” In essence, drone shows are a more precise way of telling a story. The blueprint for planning that story starts with a meeting with the client, Robillard says.
