HIGHLAND POINTE
“It’s a big mix. We are trying to create an inclusive community with a variety of housing options, including single-family lots, duplexes and townhomes, some with a back lane and others with a front drive, to amenity lots on the parks and lakes, as well as some rental apartments and townhomes.” The community is thoughtfully designed to include everything one might want and need near their home at any age, from play areas to park benches. “We have two parks: one is complete and one is nearing completion. The newest park is four acres and contains a tree stand, play structure, play field, paths and a soon-to-be- constructed picnic shelter. It will be a busy hub for the existing residents.” Carruthers says Highland Pointe will continue to grow incrementally for another decade into the future — according to interest and demand — and will work its way south towards Murray Avenue and east towards the rail line. “We have community spaces and pathways, a park trail system, paved asphalt and sidewalks. communities, it’s a safe place to raise a family,” Carruthers says. In addition, there’s an eco-friendly prairie wetland- inspired drainage system for the stormwater runoff to clean the water as it drains out of the community into the Red River. An environmentally sensitive system of ponds and interconnecting creeks also contribute to a natural

aspects of the community include wildlife habitat for birds and ducks — and saving as many trees as possible adds to the appeal even more. From the uniquely nature- inspired entryway into the community to its parks filled with native prairie plants, Highland Pointe prioritizes natural beauty. Community and green spaces are many, as are housing design choices. “We have good relationships with builders. They are the ones who work with the homeowner. We
