And while it wasn't specifically designed to encourage Manitobans to choose staycations as an alternative to cross-border travel amid economic and political uncertainty, the brand “speaks to this moment,” she adds. “That brand speaks to the heart-stirring experiences here in Manitoba, and we'll continue to renew our focus on encouraging and welcoming Manitobans to discover things that are in their own backyard.” The average Manitoban spends a little over $100 per visit while travelling in the province, while interprovincial and American travellers spend closer to $500 per visit. Overseas visitors from as far away as Australia, Germany and the United Kingdom tend to stay longer because they are coming from farther away and, as a result, spend nearly $1,500 per stay. Travel Manitoba aims to grow
