Declutter
your House
"It's not healthy to live in a cluttered
house."
Studies show that reducing clutter can
also reduce stress, and it is especially
important if you're planning a move.
Clutter makes it hard to show and sell
your current house — and you definitely
don't want to take it along when you
move.
Slator's definition of decluttered is
simple: Everything you own should have
a home.
She says you have to put aside some
time and get yourself organized before
you can get your stuff organized.
"The first thing is you need some
boxes," she says. "You need to label
them: One box is give away; one is
throw away; one is keep. Just keep it to
the basics."
>> If you can see your stuff all over the
house, but still can't find what you're
looking for ... it's time to declutter.
"When things are trickling out of
cupboards, trickling down the staircase
— that's a pretty good sign that you are
filled to the rafters," says home stager
Sharleen Slator, owner of The Final
Stage Inc.
