"The brushed aluminum, even without any
additional LED lighting around it, does
really well in the dark," says Sawatzky.
"People find they reflect a lot of light really
easily, so you can find them fairly quickly. "
Fade- and scratch-resistant, the
numbers are mounted with pins
and spacers so they're an inch or
two from the exterior, creating
a shadowed "floating" effect
that's even more elegant when
coupled with the right lighting.
House numbers and street
names can also be cut out of a
larger plaque, which opens up
all manner of dramatic design
options while providing a
notable price-point advantage.
"We haven't been clamping
down on the characters you
can put on there, so if someone
wants a 3-4-7 and then their
street name, we just charge a flat
rate for the plaque itself," says
Sawatzky.
