You can get anywhere in the city in short order, he says. When you get home, you arrive to a big lot with a spacious home in a country setting thats close to amenities in south Winnipeg and in town. The best part of the community is whats coming. People whove purchased there dont realize all the neat features that are coming. Its going to be an amazing community when it starts to mature. We thought it would be a great place for growing families to put down roots One of the great things about the community is that youve got some nice elbow room. The houses sit nicely on the land, with lots averaging about 70 to 80 feet in width. First, the lots give you plenty of room to spread out. Second, that space has allowed our builders to design generously-proportioned homes that present well and offer a high degree of curb appeal. The builders are doing a great job in designing homes that are not only liveable, but offer distinct personalities. Not only is Oak Bluff close to key amenities and services on the Kenaston strip but thanks to the Perimeter Highway its also close to other areas of the city such as west Winnipeg and south St. Vital. Access to cottage country in The Whiteshell and Lake Winnipeg is also seamless, as you can take the perimeter east or west to either destination. However, Oak Bluff West is about more than its central yet countrified location, says Jeff Baertsoen of Paradigm Custom Homes. Its great that its essentially an extension of the city in a super spot that gives you a real country feel. Plus, it offers quick access to other communities throughout the city. That said, the community itself offers some real differences from the city, starting with the lots. Mr. Vogan agrees. That lot width accomplishes two things, he adds. While Oak Bluff West was designed to appeal to families, that appeal has proven to be much broader. The location, the lots and the designs has fired up the imaginations of all kinds of different buyers, Mr. Baertsoen says. Were seeing a mixed demographic buying in Oak Bluff West, from families to empty nesters to young professionals. Theres a great group of builders offering homes in a wide variety of price ranges. The best part is that the community isnt anywhere near being mature features like landscaping and lakes are coming. Parade of Homes Spring 2013 41
