Nominees must be Manitoba residents who have volunteered or contributed to the community in a significant way. They must not have recently won a major award such as the Order of Canada, Order of Manitoba or Governor General's Award. You also can't nominate yourself, someone deceased or an elected official currently in office. Nomination forms are available online at manitoba150.com. Your nomination package should con- tain a description of the nominee's community contributions and im- pact, as well as what makes these actions outstanding. Each person selected as an Honour 150 awardee will receive a commemorative MB150 medal designed by a Manitoba artist and manufactured in the province. As well, thanks to additional funding from Canada Life, a $500 commu- nity grant will be made in tribute to each Honour 150 recipient. Complete nomination packages must be submitted by email to honour@manitoba150.com by Jan. 31, 2020. Medal Design Competition Manitoba 150 is seeking submis- sions from recognized Manitoban graphic designers or artists to de- sign the front side of the Honour 150 medal along with the neck ribbon. A jury will choose up to five finalists to submit a design sample. The chosen applicant will receive a $2,500 honorarium, a finished ver- sion of the medal, and two tickets to a dinner on Nov. 14, 2020, to rec- ognize the Honour 150 recipients. In addition, professional orga- nizations or individual service suppliers can respond to a request for proposal to manufacture the medals and neck ribbons for the 150 Honour 150 recipients. The RFP deadline is Jan. 31, 2020. Build 150 Communities can keep their ideas coming all year long since Build 150 has a rolling deadline throughout 2020. Co-ordinated by Endow Manitoba, this grant-match- ing program will offer up to $1.22 million in matching funds for a total community investment of $2.5 mil- lion to be distributed by Manitoba's 55 community foundations for brick-and-mortar projects. Local community foundations will make decisions about proj- ects that will leave a legacy for the future. Information is available on the Endow Manitoba website at en- dowmanitoba.ca. Mural 150 In another celebratory initiative, Mural 150 will provide a subsidy for five Manitoba communities to create a contemporary mural in partnership with Wall-to-Wall Rural Mural Tour.
