Visit us at BOOTH 406 world experience," Ulmer said, "while also having the exposure to make important decisions about their future." Finally, the third area hinges on 21st-century skill development. "In a skills-based economy, we are investing in opportunities for Canada's youth to develop key skills that are unaffected by disruption and are transferable across all industries — skills like resilience, empathy, problem solving, leadership, communication and coding," Ulmer said. These three areas are underpinned by RBC's commitment to supporting programs that benefit the mental well-being of Canada's youth. Future Launch Hub provides tools and resources to empower and enable youth such as RBC Upskill, an interactive tool that helps youth to plan for their first job, next job or future career. Another engaging resource called Prepped helps young people prepare for future interviews. "We are investing in programs, partnerships, research and thought leadership to address this issue important to the future of Canada," Ulmer said. "And we are being fully present in our communities through employee- facilitated programs on career, personal brand, interview skills and more." For the second year, RBC is partnering with the Rotary Career Symposium, which is one of the largest events of its kind in the country. "We share in a passion for helping Canada's youth succeed by preparing them for the future," Ulmer said. "This event empowers young people to explore the many options available to them as they make important decisions for their future and learn about what they need to navigate their career journey. This is also an opportunity to grow their network and identify the skills required to be successful in this new world of work." At the career symposium, RBC is partnering with Volunteer Manitoba, YES (Youth Employment Services) and Career Café at the RBC Future Launch Zone. "This lively zone will engage all attendees through career chats, job opportunities, practice interviews and RBC Future Launch resources," Ulmer said. Right now, work is changing. Through disruption, the skills required to thrive are changing. — RBC regional president, Kim Ulmer RBC's Future Launch Program works to prepare Canada's youth for the future world of work.
