Fitness centres are able to offer a greater variety of equipment, but Fisette says many people appreciate the convenience of working out at home. "You don't have to lug all your stuff to the gym, trying to get ready for work at the gym and do all that," he says. "So I'm hoping people will see it's just a little bit simpler at home, a little bit faster." Both experts note that a growing number of apps, online programs and streaming fitness classes help with motivation and mimic some of the social benefits of working out at clubs.
