The primary bedroom is another big, comfy space, with a classic-modern en suite. A stand-alone tulip bathtub is paired with a glass-enclosed walk-in shower and trendy matte black fixtures. In the powder room downstairs, the contrast is far more stark, with white shiplap and flat black walls butting up against one another. "We were a bit hesitant about painting the walls black. It's such a bold statement," Miller says. "But we kept the white shiplap and just having that little bit of boldness modernized the house a bit more and gives it more personality." Soloway says a small room is a good place to play with unconventional elements. "We often encourage clients if you want to try something bold, do it in the powder room," she says.
