This particular powder room makes a striking
impression, tucked between a farmhouse kitchen
and the mudroom, complete with a wood bench,
shelving units and cubbies built to accommodate a
family of four comfortably. There's also an enclosed
laundry room in the mudroom area, with its own
built-in shelves and under-valance lighting.
Soloway says her favourite room in this show home
is the kitchen.
"But I'm a fan of huge, bright kitchens," she says.
"The kitchen is probably also one of those spaces
that people are considering more because they
have to cook more now. It's not always something
at the top of everyone's mind, if you're not that
into cooking."
Shaker cabinets, and smaller-scale gooseneck barn
lights over the big apron sink are in vintage vogue,
and the dual-tone island and wide-plank floors
create a lovely flow from the kitchen and dining area
to the great room.
