• THOR Kitchen showed off a 24-inch microwave drawer. While it can be mounted next to a wall oven, it's a neat solution for awkwardly located island microwaves. Instead of crouching to remove food, the drawer lets you reach in from above. • Italian manufacturer Fulgor Milano brought its built-in automatic coffee machine. (pictured on page 116) If you're not already devoted to home-brewed coffee, you will be after a few mornings with this hot model. It's like a mechanical barista, with integrated components that grind the beans, brew the coffee, store and steam milk and put some froth in your cup — and a spring in your step. • Valiryo Technologies brought its full-body dryer. An automated substitute for a towel, it's said to provide a "pleasurable" experience that also saves the cost of laundering bath towels. At first blush, it doesn't seem like a practical gizmo to have in every shower, but people with mobility issues might want to give it a whirl. • BlueStar offers a whole range of colour options and metal trims that let buyers customize their appliances. You might match your decor with neutral tones, add a pop of colour with bright red or blue or go a bit psychedelic, for days when you're feeling high on life. A word of warning: Consumers have been down this road before, and inevitably the style pendulum swings back to white or basic black. COMING ATTRACTIONS — Cont'd from page 116 • The Nasoni Fountain Faucet: A bathroom faucet with a built- in fountainhead that shoots water upward. It has a double- billing — as a water-saving device for quenching your thirst and as an "elegant" way to rinse your face. • German exhibitor Häcker Kitchens made its KBIS debut with cabinet doors finished with the company's trademarked PerfectSense. It claims to have "anti-fingerprint properties" for easy cleaning. NASONI FOUNTAIN FAUCET 118 Parade of Homes SPRING 2022
